At Fika 33, we believe in slowing down – just enough to savour your coffee, finish your toastie while it’s still warm, and maybe catch a bit of a chat while you are at it. You will find us right here in the middle of Killeshandra, amidst the pristine lakes, across from the real world, and just around the corner from your next favourite bite.
It is where the kettle is always on, the eggs are always done your way, and yes – we have oat milk.
The Name ‘Fika 33’
‘Fika’ is a Swedish tradition – a coffee break, but done right. It’s about stopping for a moment, having something soulful and savoury to eat & drink, and immersing yourself in the stories that make up everyday life.
We wanted more than a cafe. We wanted a spot where locals and visitors could slow down – chat, eat, and breathe. Inspired by the Swedish idea of Fika – the art of taking a proper break.

From Boxty to BLTs – We Keep it Local, Always Fresh
The food? Think proper Irish breakfasts, loaded sandwiches, and hearty lunch meals – unpretentious, indulgent. We do things the way they should be done. The bacon is crisp. The cheese melts like it means it. The coffee? Roasted and brewed to perfection.
There is Dromully Load Boxty on the grill, local butter on the toast, and a hot cup of tea that is brewed with just the right amount of that ‘homely’ feel.

Fika, if you are wondering, is a Swedish tradition – essentially a coffee break, but with soul. No rushing, no background noise. It is a small pause, shared or solo, where you breathe, sip, snack, reset, and savour every moment. That idea stuck with us. And so – Fika 33 was born.
